Terms of Service

Last updated: May 6, 2026

Welcome to CineFrame ("CineFrame", "we", "us", or "our"). These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your access to and use of the CineFrame website, including any content, features, and services offered (collectively, the "Service"). By accessing or using the Service, you agree to be bound by these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the Service.

1. The Service

CineFrame is a non-commercial editorial reference archive of cinematography — a library of film, television, music video, commercial, and short-form stills curated for the purposes of study, criticism, commentary, scholarship, and education. The Service is provided as a resource for filmmakers, students, researchers, and enthusiasts.

2. Eligibility

You must be at least 13 years old to use the Service. By creating an account you represent that you meet this requirement and that the information you provide is accurate.

3. Accounts

You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your account credentials and for all activity that occurs under your account. Notify us immediately of any unauthorized use. We may suspend or terminate accounts that violate these Terms.

4. User Content and Collections

You may create collections, save frames, and submit content. You retain ownership of the organizational metadata you create (collection names, descriptions, selections). By marking a collection as public, you grant CineFrame a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free license to display, host, and distribute that collection on the Service.

You represent that any content you submit does not infringe the rights of any third party and complies with these Terms. We may remove user content at our discretion.

5. Acceptable Use

You agree not to:

  • Scrape, crawl, or use automated tools to extract content from the Service without our prior written consent;
  • Resell, sublicense, or commercially redistribute frames or metadata obtained from the Service;
  • Use the Service or its content to train commercial machine-learning or generative AI models without permission from the underlying rights holders;
  • Upload, post, or transmit content that infringes copyright, trademark, or other intellectual-property rights;
  • Interfere with the operation of the Service, attempt to gain unauthorized access, or probe for vulnerabilities;
  • Use the Service to harass, defame, or harm others.

6. Intellectual Property

CineFrame does not own, license, or claim ownership of the film stills displayed on the Service. All stills, frames, and underlying audiovisual works remain the property of their respective copyright holders (studios, distributors, filmmakers, and other rights owners). Frames are presented as low-resolution editorial references for the purposes of commentary, criticism, scholarship, and study, consistent with the doctrine of fair use under 17 U.S.C. § 107 and analogous principles in other jurisdictions.

The CineFrame name, logo, interface, code, and original editorial selections are owned by CineFrame and protected by applicable laws. See our Copyright & DMCA page for takedown procedures.

7. Third-Party Sources and Links

The Service may link to or display content sourced from third parties (including Film-Grab and similar archives). We do not control and are not responsible for the content, policies, or practices of any third-party site or service.

8. Disclaimers

THE SERVICE IS PROVIDED "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE" WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING WITHOUT LIMITATION WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, NON-INFRINGEMENT, ACCURACY, OR AVAILABILITY. WE DO NOT WARRANT THAT THE SERVICE WILL BE UNINTERRUPTED, ERROR-FREE, OR FREE OF HARMFUL COMPONENTS.

9. Limitation of Liability

TO THE FULLEST EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, CINEFRAME AND ITS OFFICERS, DIRECTORS, EMPLOYEES, AND AGENTS WILL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, OR FOR ANY LOSS OF PROFITS, REVENUE, DATA, OR GOODWILL, ARISING OUT OF OR RELATED TO YOUR USE OF THE SERVICE. OUR TOTAL AGGREGATE LIABILITY FOR ANY CLAIM ARISING OUT OF OR RELATED TO THE SERVICE WILL NOT EXCEED ONE HUNDRED U.S. DOLLARS (USD $100).

10. Indemnification

You agree to indemnify, defend, and hold harmless CineFrame and its affiliates from and against any claims, liabilities, damages, losses, and expenses (including reasonable attorneys' fees) arising out of or in any way connected with: (a) your use of the Service; (b) your violation of these Terms; or (c) your violation of any rights of a third party.

11. Termination

We may suspend or terminate your access to the Service at any time, with or without notice, for any reason, including violation of these Terms. You may stop using the Service at any time and request account deletion by contacting us.

12. Changes to These Terms

We may revise these Terms from time to time. The most current version will always be posted on this page with an updated "Last updated" date. Material changes will be communicated when reasonably possible. Your continued use of the Service after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms.

13. Governing Law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Delaware, United States, without regard to its conflict-of-laws principles. You agree to the exclusive jurisdiction of the state and federal courts located in Delaware for any dispute arising out of or relating to these Terms or the Service.
