Reference and Educational Use Only

All images on Cineframe are made available for reference, research, and educational purposes only. Cineframe is a discovery and reference tool for the craft of cinematography — it is not a stock library and it does not license images to users for commercial use.

Ownership of Images

All images remain the property of their respective copyright holders. Cineframe does not claim ownership of any film stills or frames displayed on the platform. Where known, every frame is presented with attribution to the project, director, cinematographer, year, and production company / studio that created it.

User Responsibilities

By creating an account and using Cineframe, you agree that you are solely responsible for ensuring your use of any image complies with applicable copyright laws in your jurisdiction. You may not:

Download, reproduce, or redistribute any image found on Cineframe;
Commercially exploit any image, in whole or in part;
Use Cineframe content to train commercial machine-learning or generative AI models without permission from the underlying rights holders;
Strip, alter, or misrepresent the attribution metadata associated with any frame.

Fair Use Position

Frames are displayed at low resolution alongside contextual metadata that supports commentary, criticism, scholarship, and study. We believe this use is consistent with the doctrine of fair use under 17 U.S.C. § 107 and analogous fair-dealing principles in other jurisdictions. Our use is transformative, non-commercial, limited in extent, and unlikely to substitute for the original works.

Rights-Holder Removal Requests

If you are a copyright holder (or authorized to act on behalf of one) and would like a frame removed, please use our DMCA Takedown form. We act on valid requests promptly — typically within five (5) business days.

Repeat Infringer Policy

Cineframe will, in appropriate circumstances, terminate the accounts of users who are determined to be repeat infringers.
