Privacy Policy
Last updated: May 6, 2026
This Privacy Policy explains how CineFrame ("we", "us") collects, uses, and protects information when you use our website and services (the "Service"). We aim to collect as little personal information as possible.
1. Information We Collect
Account information
When you create an account, we collect your email address and a securely hashed password (we never store your password in plain text). If you sign in with Google or Apple, we receive your email address and basic profile information from that provider.
Content you create
We store the collections you create, the frames you save, and the frames you "like" so that we can show them back to you across sessions. Collections you mark as public are visible to other visitors on your profile.
Technical information
We automatically receive standard log data when you visit the Service, including IP address, browser type, device type, referring page, and timestamps. This is used for security, abuse prevention, and basic aggregate analytics.
2. Information We Do Not Collect
- We do not collect payment information — the Service is currently free and has no paid features.
- We do not sell or rent your personal information to anyone.
- We do not use third-party advertising networks or tracking pixels for ad targeting.
3. Cookies and Local Storage
We use cookies and browser local storage strictly for essential functionality — keeping you signed in, remembering your filter preferences, and securing your session. We do not use cookies for cross-site advertising.
4. How We Use Your Information
- To operate, maintain, and improve the Service;
- To authenticate you and protect your account;
- To respond to inquiries and provide support;
- To detect, prevent, and address abuse, fraud, or security issues;
- To comply with legal obligations.
5. Service Providers
We rely on a small set of vendors to operate the Service. These providers process data only on our behalf and under contractual confidentiality and security obligations:
- Hosting, database, and authentication — our managed cloud backend infrastructure.
- Image source attribution — public film-still archives (e.g. Film-Grab) referenced for reference and credit.
6. Data Retention
We retain your account information for as long as your account remains active. You can request deletion of your account and associated data at any time by emailing us.
7. Your Rights
Depending on where you live, you may have the right to access, correct, export, or delete your personal information, and to object to or restrict certain processing. To exercise these rights, email privacy@cineframe.app from the address associated with your account.
8. Children
The Service is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If we learn that we have collected such information, we will delete it.
9. Security
We use industry-standard technical and organizational measures to protect your information, including encryption in transit (HTTPS) and at rest, hashed passwords, and access controls. No system is perfectly secure, however, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.
10. International Users
The Service is operated from the United States. If you access it from outside the U.S., your information may be transferred to, stored in, and processed in the U.S.
11. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. The "Last updated" date at the top of this page indicates when it was last revised. Continued use of the Service after a change constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
